Where Does it Comes From? What Does It Produce Inside the Believer?
"The joy of the Lord is our strenght (Nehemaih 8:10). I delight greatly in the Lord, my soul rejoices in my God. For He has clothes me with his righteous garments of
salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness ( Isaiah 61:10). God's renewing mercy produces the spirit of holy joy deeply within us. In the Word of God, joy is an attribute of Deity (Psalms
104:31). Joy defined is an element of great pleasure or happiness (2) it is the expression or manisfestation of such feelings (3) it is a source of great spiritual excitement, satisfaction or
gladness perceived in the soul. It is discernment of the heart, mind, spirit and soul. It is the disposition of the soul. Joy is an important part of that ninefold fruit of the spirit in (Galatians
5:22) which He imparts to believers. Joy is ofetn equated with happiness, but the two are quite distinct. Happiness comes from the outside. Happiness depends largely upon happenings, good health,
congeniality, company of people of the same habits or same tastes, same disposition, plesantness or surroundings, etc. Happiness and unhappiness do not exist together, but joy and sorrow can, and do.
(Isaiah 53:3)
